Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern
Where will you work:
Mosaic Potash Esterhazy is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton. Its split between three mine sites - K1, K2 and K3 which will be the largest, and one of the world’s most competitive underground potash mines in the world. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.
As a Process Engineering Intern, you will support mining and refinery process improvements, assist with process modeling, and contribute to ongoing site initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering applications within an industrial setting, allowing you to develop technical skills and gain valuable insight into process optimization. What will you do?

Day to day work assignments could include fieldwork, e.g. data analysis, report writing, and database maintenance.

• Projects will be assigned by the supervisor and could include:

Assist in identifying root causes of operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
Support circuit optimization efforts, including field checks, KPI tracking, and performance monitoring to ensure sustained operational success.
Perform field checks and contribute to system validation of new projects.
Analyze KPI reports, identify trends, and help define leading indicators for process improvements.

Support monitoring of daily trends, helping to pinpoint improvement opportunities and prioritize projects.

• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors
• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
• Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What do you need for this role?

• Second year or higher by May 2026 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Process Engineer.
• General understanding of engineering concepts and a desire to learn
• 72% Percentage or higher.
• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
• Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Experience working in a team environment is a must.
• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
