Description Work individually or as a part of a team of Transportation Construction Inspectors to provide oversight of contractor’s work efforts by ensuring quality control and contract compliance for roadway, structure, and bridge construction/maintenance projects of routine to moderate complexity, under the direction of a Transportation Construction Supervisor (TCIS), Construction Manager or designee. Essential Functions of this position include but are not limited to the inspection and documentation of work in the following areas: Inspection and monitoring of contractual field work including excavation, drainage facilities, roadway surfaces, and structures Reporting contractor’s daily operations Taking field measurements of pay items Reviewing placement of and witnessing tests associated with the quality control of construction materials Reviewing line, grade, dimension, and elevation parameters. This role routinely uses field and standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, photocopiers, digital cameras, filing cabinets, nuclear gauges, surveying tools, and other field-testing equipment materials.
