Overview Shimmick is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis Leader to join our corporate finance team, onsite and base in Irvine, CA. Shimmick has a long history of completing complex water projects, ranging from the world’s largest wastewater recycling and purification system in California to the record-setting Hoover Dam. Today, Shimmick is at the forefront of delivering solutions to meet the nation’s growing demand for smart infrastructure. Responsibilities Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Participates with senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry. Works collaboratively across departments to provide valuable financial insights that drive strategic decision-making and business growth. Ensures budgets and schedule align with corporate strategy to ensure overall success of functional, division, and company operations. Development and preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Develop, maintain, and update complex financial models to support business initiatives and evaluate performance. Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, to explain the "why" behind financial trends and results. Continuously seek to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and data integrity to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, data science or related field. Minimum 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience in the construction industry. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and financial modeling techniques. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial data to non-financial audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in corporate treasury. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). SQL scripting and data analysis skills. Knowledge/understanding of heavy civil construction contracting and accounting. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. The salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $250,000 per year depending on experience and/or education. This position is eligible to participate in company's annual discretionary bonus program. The Company also provides employer paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program.
