POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, leverage data driven insights and advanced analytics to help guide strategic business decisions, optimize processes and improve operational efficiency. This role requires a strong technical skill. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical mindset and a strong problem-solving skill and can translate complex datasets into actionable business recommendations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau and Qlik
• Willingness to learn and understand business operations across business units
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, SQL, DAX, M-Query, data source and data warehouse (Snowflake)
• Familiarity with R scripting and Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and present complex ideas and data insights clearly and effectively to non-technical
• stakeholders.Eagerness to learn new technologies especially in ML/AI space
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on driving innovative solutions
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Data Support

• Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh processes for BI reports and dashboards.
• Work with the team to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and errors.
• Collaborate with IT and data engineers to maintain and optimize data pipelines.
• Maintain documentation for data refresh schedules, configurations, and issue resolutions.
• Assist in user support for report access and functionality issues.
• Proactively suggest improvements to enhance data reliability and efficiency

Data Analysis & Interpretation

• Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple data sources (JDE, KOMPASS, MBSYNC, Samsara, Paragon, among others) and data warehouse (Snowflake) to provide comprehensive insights into business performance.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in the data that will inform key business decisions.
• Assist in the design and deployment of Prescriptive analysis to support process optimization and data insights.
• Perform root cause analysis of business challenges and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains using data.
• Ensure data quality and accuracy through proper validation techniques, best practices and governance processes

Reporting and Visualization

• Design, develop, and maintain complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations using business intelligence tool like Power BI
• Collaborate with department heads to define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to the company’s strategic goals.
• Translate business questions into data requirements and provide concise answers through reporting.

Machine learning and AI integration

• Work with the data science team to identify opportunities to integrate machine learning and AI into business processes
• Assist in the design, development, and deployment of machine learning/AI models to automate decision-making processes and optimize operations
• Evaluate the results of machine learning models, ensuring they align with business objectives
• Stay updated on the latest technology solution and integrate new techniques into business workflow

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with various business units (Operations &Transportation, Finance, Supply Chain, ROP, REX, Centralized Routing) to understand their business needs and develop tailored technical solutions
• Provide regular presentations of data insights, reports, and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership
• Serve as the liaison between technical teams (Data ingestion, Data Engineers) and business stakeholders to ensure alignment in data strategies and technology implementations

Data Quality & Governance

• Maintain data integrity, ensure data accuracy, and establish best practices for data collection, validation, and governance
• Identify data gaps and work with data ingestion and IT teams to improve data architecture and system integrations
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal data governance policies

Project Management

• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects focused on leveraging data to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Track project milestones, manage timelines, and ensure successful delivery of data-related projects within deadlines
• Other projects or duties as assigned
