Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist in the German VDV-KA (Kernapplikation) standard to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing solutions based on the VDV-KA and upcoming (((etiCORE standards, educating and mentoring other developers, and contributing to the conceptual design and software architecture of our projects. This role also involves hands-on development to support our teams.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance KA 1.x solutions, including KVP/DL/PV systems and SAM clusters
• Develop new solutions and modules based on the upcoming (((etiCORE standard
• Ensure compliance with the VDV-KA and (((etiCORE standards in all relevant projects
• Collaborate with our engineering teams to ensure successful project deliveries
• Educate and mentor other developers within the organization on VDV-KA and (((etiCOREstandards
• Conduct training sessions and create documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer
• Utilize strong knowledge and experience with Enterprise Java technologies to develop robust applications
• Implement best practices in Java development and ensure high-quality code standards
• Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Essential Job Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the VDV-KA standard and its applications in electronic ticketing and fare management systems
• Familiarity with the (((etiCORE standard or the ability to independently acquire this knowledge
• Strong experience with Enterprise Java technologies, including Java EE
• Proficiency in database management with PostgreSQL or Oracle
• Proven track record in maintaining and developing KA 1.x solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Fluent in German and English language

Desirable Job Requirements

• Experience in public transport ticketing and automated fare collection
• Familiarity with the Motics (Mobile Ticketing Crypto Service) specification
• Implementation and deployment knowledge from virtualized environments
• Tool driven system design using UML and Enterprise Architect or another structured methodology
• Experience with technologies, frameworks and specifications such as Apache Karaf, Spring, or OSGi

Education
