The Bio-Medical Engineering Technician is responsible for testing, and repairing dental equipment include performing calibrating devices, cleaning and troubleshooting equipment to ensure proper working condition and compliance with federal regulatory standards

SKILLS:

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards including FDA and OSHA for dental equipment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to prioritize competing tasks
· Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds on occasion

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
· Preferred experience is 2+ years of equipment repair, experience with dental or medical devices is preferred, however other related technician experience would meet qualification
· Familiarity with dental equipment brands such as A-dec, Midmark, or Sirona is a plus

· Refurbish used equipment to extend lifespan and maintain high performance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Diagnose, clean and repair used dental equipment, including chairs, imaging systems, and sterilization units.
· Testing and calibrating equipment parts to determine what needs repair or replacement.
· Using computers, software and electronic tools to repair medical equipment.
· Collaborate with other techs to troubleshoot issues and provide technical support.
· Provide direction and/or training for other technicians in regarding biomedical equipment functionality.
· Maintain records of all maintenance and repairs.
· Maintain skills, knowledge, and updated subject matter expertise in Bio Medical Engineering
