In the Energy & Finance Department, we provide consultancy services in sustainable energy, with a focus on power sector development, energy access, renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency as well as green and sustainable finance. Our expertise in the energy sector covers policy and institutional reform, support to utilities in modernizing operations and achieving financial recovery, comprehensive energy sector studies, the development of sustainable energy action plans, capacity building for energy management, and preparing project pipelines for energy access, green hydrogen, and energy efficiency initiatives.
To stay at the forefront of this rapidly evolving field, we are strengthening our Renewable Energy / Power Sector / Renewable Hydrogen team. We are seeking an experienced Consultant who can combine socio-economic, technical, and management expertise to deliver impactful renewable energy and power sector projects.
Join our Energy & Finance Department in Hamburg as an open-minded and versatile Consultant (m/f/d), and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality services worldwide. This role offers a stimulating mix of high-level technical expertise and project management responsibility, providing a dynamic work environment that values both strategic thinking and hands-on technical contributions.

• Take the lead in acquiring new projects, from identifying opportunities to developing and coordinating competitive technical and financial proposals in areas such as power sector transformation, renewable energy grid integration, and utility-scale renewable energy development.
• Provide hands-on technical consultancy and guide project development where applicable. Offer strategic insights on power sector transformation and ensure high-quality technical deliverables aligned with client objectives and evolving energy sector trends. Prepare comprehensive reports, technical concepts, and presentations, contributing to innovation and knowledge management within the department.
• Collaborate closely with thematic leads to drive business development in one or more focus areas: utility-scale renewable energy, power market design, renewable energy grid integration, and renewable hydrogen.
• Manage ongoing projects and studies, including technical oversight, financial administration, progress monitoring, and evaluation—ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Build and maintain strong networks with donor agencies, beneficiaries, partner organizations, subcontractors, and sector experts.
• Represent GFA at conferences, workshops, and international forums, positioning the company as a trusted leader in renewable energy and power sector transformation.
