Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Waste Minimisation and General Duties Operative
This is a permanent position working 20 hours per week from 09:00 to17:00 on Monday. Then 09:00 to 12:15 Tuesday to Friday.
. The salary is £13148.54 per annum.

Role responsibilities as a Waste Minimisation Assistant include:

• Manhandling and transporting residential and conference refuge and recycling waste from residential buildings to bin stores.
• Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the SLA, including keeping the site clean band clear throughout the tear
• Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner
• Routinely inspect and carry out cleaning of buildings frontage and residential bin stores.
• Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s)
• Maintain the required standard in appearance of all areas surrounding the residences. Remove litter and debris from the campus both from hard and soft landscapes( i.e. roads, paths, borders, grass etc) including leaves, rubbish, chewing gum, dirt and moss.
• Assist with PPMs

You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.
You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
