The Opportunity 

In line with the Organisation’s licensing requirements, the purpose of the position is to provide monitoring and support to Foster and Kinship Carers, who provide culturally appropriate out-of-home care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged under 18.  

  • To monitor quality of foster and kinship care placement, ensuring the needs of the children are met. 
  • Support and educate carers to ensure they are meeting the standards of care by building trust and establishing connections. 
  • Supporting carers to ensure they have all necessary supports in place – e.g. respite options, strong support network. 
  • Support carers in reporting non-critical and critical incidents to minimise the risk to children in care and to minimise the risk of placement breakdown. 
  • Provide on call support when rostered.
