Description

About the job

Sigma Healthcare operates a distribution and supply chain function servicing retail customers from its site at Truganina in Melbourne’s West. We are seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to analyse our product delivery and supply chain processes and to identify and recommend changes that improve efficiency, reduce cost and lift service performance.

You will work with data drawn from our warehouse management, inventory, transport and reporting systems and turn it into insight that operational and senior leadership can act on.

You will study our current systems, methods, work flows and procedures, quantify where they are underperforming, prepare and recommend proposals to change them, help implement what is approved, and measure whether it worked.

What does a day in the life of a Supply Chain Analyst look like?

  • Analysing end-to-end product delivery and supply chain processes across inbound, outbound, inventory, warehousing and transport, and recommend changes that improve cost, service and efficiency.
  • Analysing and evaluating current systems, capabilities, structures and procedures against business objectives and customer service requirements.
  • Developing, maintaining and distributing supply chain performance reports, dashboards and scorecards, and analyse inventory, labour, productivity, service and accuracy metrics to identify trends, exceptions and risks.
  • Monitoring and analysing inventory record accuracy, stock variances and cycle count results, and recommend corrective action.
  • Conducting root cause analysis on operational issues, inventory discrepancies, service failures and productivity gaps.
  • Preparing and recommending proposals to revise methods and procedures and alter work flows, and identify gaps and opportunities through continuous improvement and change methodologies.
  • Modeling, quantifying and reporting on cost-saving and efficiency initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis of proposed changes.
  • Developing and maintaining labour forecasting, workforce planning and capacity models, and analyse throughput and utilisation data to support operational and strategic planning.
  • Analysing supplier and carrier performance data, including cost-to-serve and delivery-in-full-on-time, and recommend service and cost improvements.
  • Analysing route and freight activity, including freight invoicing, electronic billing and shipment tracing, to identify cost recovery and service improvements.
  • Designing and maintaining data sets, queries and reporting logic, and ensure data integrity across warehouse management, inventory and reporting systems.
  • Assisting in implementing approved recommendations, measure post-implementation benefits, and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Who are we looking for?

  • A bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field plus 1 year of full-time post-qualifications experience in a relevant role; or at least five years of relevant experience in a relevant position.
  • At least two years of relevant experience. Additional experience beneficial.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including modelling, and experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau or equivalent.
