Consults or makes referral to primary care physician, other health care professionals or agencies when a situation is beyond their level of expertise or when additional services are needed to coordinate their health care. Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Education and Experience Requirements: * If licensed after 1999 must have Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. * American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health-NP Required * Must have a nationally recognized certification to practice. * Current Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance License required. * Current Connecticut State RN/APRN Licensure. * 2-3 years experience in clinical setting providing direct patient care required.
