Job Description Summary As a Senior Software Engineer working on our Java desktop application, you will implement, design, and thoroughly document challenging projects to manipulate, display, find, transfer, and label medical images. The MIM platform provides tools to automate medical processes, transfer and store medical data, analyze medical images, and so much more – all to solve problems faced by today’s medical professionals. This position works closely with US-based software engineers. Job Description Responsibilities Lead projects through the design and implementation phases, including delegation of work when appropriate. Serve as the point person for one or more specific modules, components, or sets of features in a large and mature code base. Thoroughly document technical decisions to satisfy the GE HealthCare Quality Management System and business processes. Mitigate and document cybersecurity and other technical risks. Review difficult, complicated, and critical code. Investigate a variety of critical and complex issues/tickets in an organized, timely fashion, even if the tickets reach a high volume. Create comprehensive testing plans and automated tests. Identify gaps or needs in the department and initiate improvements. Communicate with the team regularly to coordinate on projects, overcome roadblocks, and celebrate successes. Contribute meaningfully to GE Healthcare's overall mission of improving patient care. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or a related scientific field with notable computer science coursework. At least four years industry experience in programming, preferably in Java, with experience in both UI and backend work. Proficient spoken and written English.
