If you have previous experience in the kitchen of a hospital or other large facility and/or have experience as a Dietary Aide in a mental healthcare hospital environment, then your application to this position will be immediately moved to the shortlist of candidates. Ideally, you'll bring at least three (1) year of experience as a Dietary Aide in a healthcare or similar setting, though this experience is not necessary. You'll showcase strong kitchen safety skills and be able to meet deadlines surrounding a very rigid serving schedule. A high level of awareness in regards to patient dietary orders is very important to achieve desired results in this role. That said, you'll need to be able to read and comprehend our recipes and instructions regarding prepackaged products. The perfect candidate will be able to read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe changes and development and assist cooks and the Kitchen Manager to execute exceptional patient care. A substantial amount of knowledge using commercial kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and dishwashers will be of asset to this position. You should have a current CPR certification when you apply or obtain certification prior to your start date.
