Job Description: Urban Planner cum Designer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planner cum Designer with expertise in master planning, advanced design, and the ability to create visually compelling 3D renderings and models. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of urban development, design principles, and advanced visualization tools. Candidates must have their own laptop equipped with a high-performance graphic card and necessary design software. Knowledge of Unreal Engine and 3D Max will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Master Planning and Urban Design:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive master plans for urban spaces, ensuring alignment with zoning laws, land use policies, and sustainability principles.
• Create innovative and functional designs that enhance urban environments and reflect modern trends.

1. Advanced 3D Modeling and Visualization:

• Use tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, 3D Max, and Unreal Engine to produce detailed 2D and 3D visuals, including animations and interactive simulations.
• Develop high-quality renderings and immersive virtual environments to showcase urban design concepts.

1. Project Management:

• Lead urban planning projects from conceptualization to execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, landscape designers, and other professionals to integrate various elements into cohesive designs.

1. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Engage with government authorities, private developers, and community members to gather input and refine project designs.
• Conduct public consultations, workshops, and presentations to build consensus and address concerns.

1. Presentation and Reporting:

• Create compelling presentations and reports to communicate planning and design proposals effectively.
• Utilize visuals such as models, renderings, and videos to enhance stakeholder understanding.

1. Regulatory and Sustainability Compliance:

• Ensure all designs meet local, regional, and international regulatory standards.
• Incorporate sustainable practices and smart city concepts into urban plans.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in design and visualization software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, 3D Max, and Unreal Engine.
• Strong rendering skills using V-Ray, Enscape, or Lumion.
• Advanced knowledge of GIS tools and spatial data analysis.

1. Visualization and Presentation:

• Ability to produce photorealistic renderings, immersive virtual environments, and detailed 3D models.
• Expertise in creating interactive visual experiences using Unreal Engine or similar tools.

1. Planning and Design:

• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning laws, and environmental sustainability.
• Creative and innovative approach to urban design challenges.

1. Communication and Collaboration:

• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

1. Self-Reliance and Equipment Ownership:

• Must have a high-performance laptop with a dedicated graphic card and pre-installed design software.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field.
• AICP, LEED, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in urban planning, design, and visualization.
• Demonstrated expertise in 3D Max, Unreal Engine, and other advanced tools is a significant advantage.
