This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence, as you’ll collaborate with engineering, governance, and executive teams to deliver security at scale. What will you do? Engineer and deploy automated security governance solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring compliance from code commit to production. Design and maintain reusable security architecture patterns (e.g., zero-trust frameworks, encryption models) for cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-prem environments. Develop tools to automate security policy enforcement, translating standards into executable tests and monitoring systems. Lead the technical evaluation and integration of emerging security technologies (e.g., confidential computing, AI-driven threat detection). Create proof-of-concept prototypes to demonstrate security architectures and influence engineering teams through hands-on leadership. Collaborate with enterprise architects to harden system designs and ensure security-by-design principles are embedded in all solutions. Build automated validation processes for security controls, generating compliance reports and risk metrics. Mentor engineers on secure architecture principles and contribute to RBC’s open-source security initiatives. What do you need to succeed? Must-Have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in security architecture/engineering with hands-on coding (Java, Python) and cloud security (AWS/Azure). Expertise in secure architecture patterns, IAM systems, data protection, and network security. Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS) and risk management frameworks.
