As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the AI Foundations team, you will shape the architecture and systems that power advanced AI capabilities within a browser environment. You will design and operate infrastructure for prompt engineering, model evaluation, and orchestration of AI services, enabling rapid prototyping and production-quality AI-driven features. This role demands deep technical expertise in backend and infrastructure engineering, as well as hands-on experience integrating LLM outputs into scalable applications. The position offers the opportunity to influence AI product innovation, mentor other engineers, and contribute to high-impact projects in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. Accountabilities: Own and evolve AI Foundations systems that integrate LLM outputs into production product experiences. Build and operate evaluation and prompt engineering infrastructure to streamline experimentation and deployment. Orchestrate LLM usage across services, optimizing for reliability, streaming, error handling, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to define requirements, SLAs, and APIs for AI features. Develop workflows, documentation, and tooling to enable teams to ship AI-driven features confidently. Manage planning and on-call responsibilities for AI Foundations services as needed. 8+ years of experience building and leading high-quality software systems, particularly in backend or infrastructure engineering.
