POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategy and Engagement team is looking for a Principal Associate, Market Research & Intelligence, who will apply primary and secondary research to solve challenging problems and contextualize a variety of critical business issues. The analyst in this role will develop and present research, reputation tracking and issues reports leveraging a mix of analytics tools and research methodologies. A key to success will be communicating and presenting data-backed insights in a compelling manner to influence senior leaders and inform strategic initiatives, communications strategies, and business priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of experience working in insights and analytics, market research, management consulting, or any combination of the three
• At least 3 years using media monitoring and social listening tools
• At least 3 years of working in and creating Tableau dashboard environments
• At least 1 year using SQL for data analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years+ experience using boolean search and query building
• 2 years+ guiding others through quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
• 1+ year experience executing strategic research and/or measurement initiatives
  The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
  McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Associate, Market Research
  Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
  This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.

• Support monitoring and reporting around key topics and event-based moments through social listening, media, and stakeholder analysis methodologies
• Distill complex data into simple KPIs, data visualizations, dashboards, or scorecards
• Leverage tools such as Brandwatch, Tableau, MRI, and Mintel
• Develop research agendas and measurement approaches in partnership with EA teams to inform business action
• Leverage and integrate media monitoring and primary research to produce ad hoc and recurring reports for leadership
• Spot and propose opportunities to bring deeper intelligence to the team around key audiences, issues, or the competitive landscape
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends related to market and media research methodologies
