SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the eLearning Instructional Facilitator, the eLearning (VR) Instructional Technician is responsible for overseeing and supporting students during virtual reality (VR) learning sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment by managing student interactions within the VR space, troubleshooting technical issues with headsets and software, and providing assistance with navigating the virtual learning platform, while also maintaining a positive and engaging learning experience for all participants

Assist students with troubleshooting technical issues related to VR headsets, controllers, and learning platforms, including basic troubleshooting and reporting problems to IT personnel.
Deploy the mobile unit at school sites as needed and secure the mobile unit as trained.
Classroom management:
Facilitate smooth transitions between VR activities, manage student rotations, and maintain a positive learning atmosphere within the virtual space.
Provide basic guidance on navigating the VR learning platform, explaining key features and functionalities of the virtual environment, and reinforcing learning objectives as needed.
Encourage active participation and collaboration within the VR environment, technician student progress, and identify areas where additional support may be needed.
Track student engagement metrics within the VR platform, report on student progress, and provide feedback to the instructor on overall class performance.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of the Board policy or evaluation of hourly support staff.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technology materials and programs. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, students, administration, and the community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: Demonstration of the use of technology into classroom curricula through instructional practice as directed. High degree of approachability, accessibility, responsibility and follow-through on projects; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, online or on the telephone.
Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines both remotely and in-person. Ability to promote and follow Governing Board Policies, Superintendent Policies, building and department procedures. Emotional stability to work effectively under pressure and to keep all aspects of the job under control.
