Established in 1976, the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. SIIT is recruiting Instructors to deliver multiple OPER programs in the 2018-2019 academic year, with each program being 10 weeks in length, across the province. As the educational leader in the classroom, the Outdoor Power Equipment Instructor will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. This position is to organize and implement instructional activities which create a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT’s vision, mission, and mandate.These include the following broad range of accountabilities:

Required Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of five years outdoor power equipment repair experience is required, including experience with all-terrain vehicles, boat motors, and snowmobiles. Knowledge of First Nations culture and organizations is considered an asset. An understanding of adult learning theories and principles is considered an asset. Prior experience teaching First Nations Adults is an asset. First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset.
As this position is considered safety sensitive, the incumbent will be subject to testing as per SIIT’s Alcohol and Substances policy.
