H.J. Baker is currently seeking 4th Class Power Engineers to support our Strathcona sulphur melting facility. We strive to create a work environment that is productive and profitable as well as challenging and enjoyable.
The facility is a 24-hour operation in which operator shifts will consist of 7 days on and 7 days off, rotating between day and night shifts.

Operator duties include but are not limited to:

• All aspects of safety and regulatory compliance
• Daily rounds, monitoring and maintaining boiler & steam system
• Ensuring optimization of production
• Coordinating outside services and providing direction
• Operating heavy equipment (Front End Loader, Skid-steer, Rail Car Mover)
• Filling hoppers with crushed sulphur
• Loading liquid sulphur into trucks and railcars

H.J. Baker offers competitive benefits and compensation upon completion of a 3-month probation period.

Considerations for the successful candidate will include:

• Possession of a valid Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate, with preference given to candidates with direct gas plant operating experience
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Physical ability to perform each aspect of the job
• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong troubleshooting skills
