Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Take dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and documentation
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
- Perform front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and billing services
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience as a dental assistant or in managing the front desk.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current certification in dental assisting (CDA) preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Proficiency in EagleSoft or similar dental software
- Experience with taking dental x-rays and operating dental imaging equipment
- Understanding of basic anatomy related to oral health
- Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
- Strong infection control practices and knowledge of sterilization techniques
- Experience with Orthodontics would be a plus
- Would highly consider EFDA certified candidates for Prosthodontics or candidates willing to obtain an EFDA certification right away.
- For the receptionist position, experience in dental billing would be a plus.
Skills:
- Proficient in using EagleSoft or similar dental software for patient records management
- Skilled in taking high-quality dental x-rays and operating imaging equipment
- Knowledgeable in aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment during procedures
- Familiarity with various dental assisting procedures, including restorative, preventive, and surgical treatments
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $35.00 per hour
