Join us in creating a warm and sustainable Hamburg! We are looking for several shift supervisors (all genders)

for the new Center for Resources and Energy (ZRE)

in the Bahrenfeld district of Hamburg. The ZRE will be one of the first facilities in Germany to not only thermally treat waste (incineration) but also sort residual waste, thus recovering valuable raw materials.

Once operational, we will primarily generate electricity and heat for up to 40,000 households. This will cover a large portion of Hamburg's district heating needs, replacing fossil fuels and helping the environment by saving over 200,000 tons of CO₂.

Particularly exciting: They accompany the commissioning and assume a key role in the development of the future operational organization from the very beginning.

Your tasks:

• Professional and disciplinary management of the employees on your shift, as well as ensuring safe, efficient and trouble-free plant operation.
• Responsibility for the operation, control and monitoring of the systems via the process control system in compliance with legal requirements, official regulations and applicable safety and environmental standards.
• Ensuring high plant availability and continuous optimization of operational processes and process parameters
• Identifying, analyzing and evaluating malfunctions and deviations in plant operation, as well as initiating and coordinating appropriate immediate measures.
• Responsibility for communication and coordination with adjacent departments, superiors and other shift supervisors
• Issuance of work permits as well as execution and monitoring of activations and recommissioning of plant components
• Support for maintenance measures, overhauls, commissioning and technical optimization projects.
• Ensuring compliance with occupational safety, environmental and quality standards within the area of ​​responsibility
• Active participation in the development and improvement of operational processes during the commissioning phase of the ZRE

Your profile:

• Successfully completed advanced training as a certified power plant master (all genders), alternatively master craftsman (all genders) in the field of electrical, control or mechanical engineering, state-certified technician (all genders) or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the operation or maintenance of process engineering plants, ideally in the power plant, energy, waste disposal or chemical industry.
• Experience in employee management and the ability to motivate employees and guide them safely through challenging operational situations.
• Sound technical understanding of complex plant and process flows
• A strong sense of responsibility and a structured, solution-oriented and safety-conscious way of working.
• High level of communication skills, assertiveness and team orientation
• Willingness to take responsibility and to make confident decisions even in challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn, flexibility and interest in actively shaping the operation of a new plant
• Willingness and physical fitness for work in fully continuous shift work
