Job Description: As a Modifications & Obsolescence Engineer, you will be involved with configuration control tasks supporting the change management processes applied on Tornado military aircraft. You will act as a BAE Systems OMAMS (Obsolescence Management and Monitoring Systems ) primary point of contact, dealing with all aspects of the configuration control of obsolescence and new supplier novation change activities, for the Tornado platform. This role will provide you with configuration control experience, with opportunities to develop task management, planning and integration skills. Core duties: Logging new parts deemed Obsolete Updating data related to existing parts logged in OMAMS throughout their lifecycle. Continuous liaising with Project Management, Engineering and Logistics Support and Procurement to keep updated OMAMS Representing BAE Systems at the regular Obsolescence forums and status meetings internally and with our partners, external suppliers You will also be heavily involved in liaison with supply chain, logistics and obsolescence manager to support the end-to-end change lifecycle down to completion (i.e. availability of alternative part number in case of design change or other mitigations). Essential Skills: Qualified to Degree, HND/HNC (as a minimum) in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience General Configuration Control experience Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) Knowledge of the Tornado Aircraft Experience of Obsolescence management. The Tornado Modification Team: The Tornado Modification Team drives the delivery of aircraft upgrades, managing change documentation from concept to implementation while ensuring compliance with established processes. Working closely with BAE Systems engineering teams, they coordinate activities and develop fully costed modification proposals, supported by clear and engaging presentations for key reviews. The team plays a vital role in configuration and change management meetings, providing progress updates, metrics, and planning insights.
