Description: District Social Emotional Learning Teacher - Grades K-6
Location: District position, to support Elementary schools in Cranbrook, Jaffray, Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford.
Contract Type: Full-time Temporary (1.0 FTE)
Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $63,357 to $112,345, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

JOB SUMMARY:

District Social Emotional Learning Teacher - Grades K-6
1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting September 3, 2025 or upon completion of the posting process to June 26, 2026, or return of the incumbent.
Must have a Master Degree in Inclusive Education, Social Emotional Learning, or an area related to Social Emotional Learning. Must have a proven ability to teach students in social emotional learning with an approach to reach all learners. Must be self-directed with excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.

Assets would include:

• Course work or professional learning pertaining to social emotional learning as well as trauma informed practices.
• Experience with preparation, presentation and facilitation of social emotional learning workshops and professional learning communication.
• Classroom teaching experience.
• Previous co-teaching experience and building capacity with fellow educators and support staff.

This is a District position that will have a home base of either Cranbrook or the Elk Valley. The schedule for this position will be mutually agreed upon.
Program Description: The District Social Emotional Learning Teacher works collaboratively with district and school staff inbuilding capacity to support social emotional learning in the classroom through leading, organizing and offering professional learning to staff.
