 Desired Skills and Experience

About the Role:

The Product Owner for ELMO Remuneration team will help shape a modern platform that enables organisations to manage employee pay reviews, reward processes, and total reward visibility in one connected experience.

Working closely with product, design and engineering, this role translates priorities into clear requirements and valuable product improvements across use cases such as employee engagement, customer satisfaction, training, recruitment, onboarding, performance and exit feedback. We’re looking for someone who is AI-native in how they work, using AI to improve speed, quality and decision-making across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

Product ownership and delivery

  • Translate product priorities into clear, actionable requirements for design and engineering.
  • Own the quality and clarity of requirements, ensuring work is well-defined and focused on customer value.
  • Use AI to draft acceptance criteria, surface specification gaps, and accelerate validation, applying your own domain judgement to check, correct, and take ownership of the result.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to refine ideas, solve problems and support delivery.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy, well-prioritised backlog for the Remuneration product.

Product and customer focus:

  • Help shape the direction of ELMO Remuneration across areas such as remuneration creation, reporting, analytics, templates, branding and user experience.
  • Champion a product experience that balances flexibility, ease of use, privacy and value for customers.
  • Bring a strong understanding of customer problems, user journeys and product opportunities.
  • Partner with adjacent product areas where remuneration supports broader customer workflows.

Quality and continuous improvement:

  • Review engineering's codified specifications against original business intent, catching where a rule or edge case has been missed before build starts.
  • Support high-quality product delivery through strong validation, attention to detail and thoughtful collaboration.
  • Work with teams to identify risks, remove ambiguity and improve confidence in what is being built.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in product ways of working, team effectiveness and delivery quality.

Collaboration and stakeholder management

  • Work closely with product, design and engineering to align execution with product goals and customer needs.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and build trust through sound judgement, clarity and follow-through.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture focused on learning, ownership and continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Clear, high-quality product requirements that help teams move quickly and confidently.
  • Strong collaboration across product, design and engineering.
  • Thoughtful use of AI to improve speed, clarity and quality in day-to-day product work.
  • A well-managed backlog that supports meaningful customer outcomes.
  • Product improvements that deliver a strong customer experience and measurable value.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar product delivery role within a software environment.
  • Strong ability to write clear requirements, manage priorities and work closely with delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an AI-native or AI-enabled way, using AI tools to improve product thinking, documentation, validation and execution.
  • Strong product judgement, attention to detail and customer empathy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Confidence working across product, design and engineering in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with remuneration, feedback, analytics or workflow-based products is desirable.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to shape a modern product, use AI as a true advantage in the way you work, and turn complex challenges into meaningful customer impact, we’d love to hear from you. Join the ELMO Rem team and help build a product that empowers organisations to listen, learn and take action.

ELMO Software Pty Ltd is an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to join our team. We are also committed to advancing reconciliation at ELMO through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
