The Safety Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, safety, and accident prevention across our operations. This position will work closely with drivers, crews, and applicants to maintain the highest safety standards. Good Greek is a leader in the industry, offering competitive compensation and benefits! APPLY TO LEARN MORE ---------------------------------------- RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Inspect vehicles or other equipment for evidence of abuse, damage, or mechanical malfunction * Inspect vehicles or equipment to ensure compliance with rules, standards, or regulations * Examine transportation vehicles, equipment, or systems to detect damage, wear, or malfunction * Conduct vehicle or transportation equipment tests, using diagnostic equipment * Inspect repairs to transportation vehicles or equipment to ensure that repair work was performed properly * Prepare reports on investigations or inspections and actions taken * Issue notices and recommend corrective actions when infractions or problems are found * Investigate complaints regarding safety violations * Walk the lot throughout the shift clearing any debris * Perform minor maintenance to fleet including but not limited to, changing headlights and wipers   * Support warehouse operations * Other duties as directed by management/ownership ---------------------------------------- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * This role schedule is required overnights from 5:00pm-5:00am. * Working knowledge of the truckload transportation industry. * Solid understanding of FMCSA and DOT safety regulations. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and hazards. * Excellent communication and documentation skills. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to respond to urgent safety situations when needed. * Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. * Dependable, trustworthy, and highly responsible. ---------------------------------------- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transportation safety, compliance, or inspection. * Experience with driver evaluations, vehicle inspections, and regulatory compliance preferred. *Good Greek and our affiliates are equal opportunity employer.
