Job Title: Software Test Specialist
Location: Brossard, Quebec J4Z 0N5
Job Type: Contract (6 months)
Hours: 8AM - 5PM Standard (Flexible)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing (system, black box, integration, performance, load, regression)
• Good knowledge of IP network protocols (TCP/UDP/IP)
• Experience with JIRA and GitHub tools
• Proficiency in both French and English (oral and written)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Studies or certification in software quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB)
• Experience with Python or PowerShell in automated testing contexts
• Knowledge of automated testing tools (TestComplete or equivalent)
• Familiarity with industrial IP protocols: Modbus TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC61850
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V, containers, etc.)
• Software development skills in C, C++, or C#
• Experience with technology infrastructure: networking, Active Directory, switches, etc.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM or others)
• Knowledge in electrical systems engineering
• Customer-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems
• Team spirit, cross-functional collaboration, and ease working in a multicultural environment

• Participate in the review of system requirements in collaboration with the client and master functional needs of the domain
• Contribute to project planning by estimating efforts, strategies, and resources related to verification and validation
• Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and procedures for various types of tests: functional, graphical interface, integration, regression, data validation, etc.
• Design and maintain reliable test automation solutions to ensure software non-regression
• Analyze test results and identify/document failure causes in collaboration with developers
• Validate official product releases and take responsibility for final quality
• Participate in drafting technical documents such as installation, maintenance, and user manuals
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products
• Continuously improve testing methodologies and promote their adoption within the team
• Participate in the management and maintenance of the test lab.
