Assistant Professor in Allied Health/Nursing Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Professor in Allied Health/Nursing non-tenure track, one-year position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits. Job Description: The Department of Health Sciences and Nursing is seeking a non-tenure track Assistant Professor in Allied Health/Nursing for the 2025-2026 academic year, whose primary teaching responsibilities would be to teach courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Biology for Health Sciences, Microbiology, and Medical Terminology to first- and second-year Nursing and Health Sciences majors. Faculty will report to the Department Chair for the implementation of the approved curriculum based on the mission and philosophy of the Health Sciences and Nursing Department at Eastern. The position is a nine-month salaried contractual position starting in August 2025. The teaching load for this position is 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate will provide students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge and practice the skills identified in course objectives using varied and appropriate teaching methods. Faculty in the Department of Health Sciences and Nursing must also participate in the program evaluation and continuous improvement process and engage in personal professional development. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to 1) excellence in teaching (preferably in a Liberal Arts setting), 2) advising for student success and preparing students for related careers and/or graduate program admission, and 3) providing service to the department, college, university, and community.
