  Job Summary: The Transport Driver is responsible for the safe operation of transport vehicles according to ICC and DOT regulations. This individual is responsible for intercompany transfers of product among the assigned facilities.   Essential Functions * Fully understand how to operate and safely drive company-maintained vehicles in alignment with Interstate Commerce Commission and Department of Transportation regulations. * Able to work in a team-oriented work environment and communicate effectively with individuals in multiple locations as needed.  * Ensure trailers and other contents of transfer are properly secured to prevent damage.  * Ensure a safe, clean, and DOT complaint vehicle.  * Notify Plant Manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.  * Ensure transfers are delivered timely and appropriately including assisting with loading and unloading materials and trailers.  * Obey all traffic laws and drive according to the weather and road conditions.  * Verify loads transported match the packing list and/or bill of lading and document pickups and deliveries as needed. * Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to driving and following each trip to ensure safety and operational effectiveness of equipment. * Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed.  (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this job.)  Qualifications and Requirements * High School Diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent and relevant demonstrated skills and experience. * Must be able to pass a DOT physical.  * Experience driving a company vehicle for transport purposes is preferred.  * A safe and clean driving record with no moving violations. * Able to understand and follow DOT regulations for safety and hours of service. * Ability to be energetic and focused while working in a team-oriented environment. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. * Must be able to read and interpret work orders and thoroughly complete paperwork/documents.   Physical Requirements * Must be able to maintain safety while working effectively and efficiently. * Must be able to wear all required PPE for the position, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel or composite toe footwear. * Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. * This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping . * Must be able to frequently climb, crouch, bend and reach. * Will be exposed to both indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. * Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
