Due to continued growth DAF Trucks services seek a first year HGV Apprentice Mechanic.
This four-year apprenticeship is offered in conjunction with SOLAS and involves both on and off the job training. Once complete, the apprentice will be awarded a QQI level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in HGV Motor Mechanics.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Fluent in English with strong Communication skills.
• Be dependable, reliable, punctual and of good character.
• Have a basic understanding of commercial vehicles & the motor trade.
• Be capable of learning new skills and applying your knowledge to excel in your apprenticeship in a busy fast paced environment.
• Be able to work well under pressure, as part of a team, but also use initiative.
• Have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work overtime if required.
• Have a ‘can-do’ attitude and approach to learning.

  Pay: €7.00-€12.00 per hour

• Assist technicians in performing routine inspections and repair work on a range of heavy commercial vehicles.
• Assist and learn best practice to carry out fault diagnosis, service, maintenance, and repair on A range of commercial vehicles
• Ensure good housekeeping by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely and efficient manner.
• Follow the SOLAS apprenticeship curriculum under the guidance of our team and attend all examinations to achieve a FETAC trade certificate.
• Attend SOLAS off the job college modules as part of the apprenticeship.
