Driver
Cairns/Port Douglas Concrete Plant is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to join their team.

About the role:

  • You will be based at our Cairns Concrete Plant reporting to the Plant Manager.
  • Delivery concrete using an Agitator Truck.
  • Most days will start at 6am working up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 55-60 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates
  • You will be dealing with lots of different personalities every day, so you need to be comfortable interacting with people you haven’t met before
  • We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your loads.
  • All new starts go through a 10-day training program before we let you loose by yourself.

About you:

  • Minimum of HR license (essential) with previous driving experience (preferred)
  • Front-end loader ticket would be highly regarded.
  • You enjoy meeting people and having a chat with them when you’re onsite
  • You prefer variety in your working life. No two days are ever the same when you’re driving one of our Agi trucks
  • Can pick up new systems easily, and don’t shy from complicated tasks.
  • You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg Materials sites.
