The Collision Repair and Refinish Technician position will prepare the body and components for painting. Responsible for sanding, masking and prepping bodies and parts before paintwork is started and completed. Apply bondo/seam sealer and prepare for final finishing and sanding. Wet sand and polish custom-colored bodies and doors. Dispose of hazardous waste from the painting process in accordance with federal and state laws. Observe health and safety by wearing a respirator, paint suits and all other PPE. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Participate in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Requirements WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned. Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires working in a fast-paced environment. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision. Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with good standing MVR. Must have experience in paint, collision repair and/or related field. Some technical training helpful. Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment. Ability to read gauges, measurement tools, blueprints and work orders. Keen attention to detail is required.
