Job Description AECOM is seeking a Mid-level Archaeology Technician (Archaeology Technician III) for immediate employment. This remote opportunity will report to our Cultural Resources team in Portland. *This is a part-time, on-call position meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed project basis. Archaeological Technician’s primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Field projects will primarily be in Oregon and Washington State, and candidates should be in the Portland, OR and/or Vancouver, WA area. Candidates will need flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct all aspects of archaeological field work, including survey, site recordation, site testing, monitoring, and data recovery. Must be familiar with standard archaeological techniques for all phases of archaeological investigations. Assist with documentation and mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data. Assist with technical research and writing for reporting efforts. Analyze and document prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts. Works with the technical field, lab and office staff, managers and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet AECOM quality standards.
