Duties of the Principal Structural Engineer role include; Effectively control the commercial, managerial and technical aspects of projects or parts for which you are responsible. Sourcing opportunities and preparing fee proposals for submission to clients, including resources and programme. Leading a team of engineers and technicians designing building infrastructure schemes Requirements; Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and structural principles. Undertake structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate. Supervise work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget Deliver design solutions and assessment calculations, lead teams, and successfully manage projects. Have a solid track record of having worked on various structures projects, possibly as project leader on some, with experience of dealing directly with clients. Specific Requirements; Excellent knowledge of design in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steelwork. Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes and specifically Eurocode 2 & Eurocode 3. Excellent working knowledge of Structural Analysis Software, SCIA, TEKLA or similar software. Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs. The ability to effectively communicate your message to the team, senior management and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.
