The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs field inspections according to requirements of RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and the FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards. Supervises Team Members as well as access and equipment vendors. Work at heights, on ladders, on scaffolding and on aerial lifts, or other bridge inspection access equipment. Work in confined spaces, work adjacent to live traffic, work in or around water and work under adverse weather conditions. Work overnight as required, including work within railroad right-of-way. Prepares inspection reports. Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others. Bridge analyses and load rating calculations including 3D FEM modeling as needed. Bridge rehabilitation plans and document development as needed. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or similar discipline plus four years of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor of bridge inspectors Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) License. Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review Preferred Requirements: Professional Engineering (P.E.)
