JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer that will work on innovative and transformational initiatives at TD Securities - the implementation of the next generation Market Operations workflow platform.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of a scalable, resilient and high performing workflow platform that will be used by Market Operations Business Support team, Front Office Traders, and Senior Executives. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed.
As a lead platform engineer, you will be working on leading platform engineering team to pinpoint the system bottleneck, providing tangible solutions quickly to resolve platform issues, automating platform maintenance tasks as well as demonstrating a strong technical leadership to ensure the quality of deliverables in a timely manner.

DESIRED SKILLSETS:

• Java 11+/J2EE
• Cloud Platform experience (GCP/Azure/AWS)
• Spring Boot/React/Rest API/ Spring Security (OAuth, LDAP)
• MS SQL Server and No SQL database
• GitHub Workflows/Actions.

• Proficient in programming skills for automation: Unix shell scripting, python or other programming language

• Experience with IBM/Rabbit MQ, Confluent Kafka is needed.
• Knowledge of SSO, MFA, PingFed, OIDC, OAuth.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Experience in large scale platform migration initiative.
• 10+ technical leadership experience in leading engineering team delivering large scale and mission critical projects.
• 3+ years of React, Redux experience
• 8+ years of Java/J2EE experience
• 8+ years of experience in the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot
• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Platform (GCP/Azure/AWS)
• Excellent experience in Microservices Design Pattern
• 3+ years of experience in Scala/Spark.
• Strong experience in Linux environment.
• Experience in managing web and service/API platform.
• Experience in designing and integrating with REST APIs.
• Experience working with messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka)
• Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL and any non-relational db. such as Cassandra (is preferred).
• Experience of Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment
• Understanding on best practices and design patterns.
• Experience developing and managing highly scalable and low latency systems.
• A passion for bringing best products to the customer, simplifying and automating work, for making things better, for being efficient and helping others.
• Experience in implementing and managing system monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace etc.).

• Leads the creation of a comprehensive end-to-end detailed solution with overall accountability for the technical design and delivery of the System Design Specification and is largely focused on large-scale, complex or enterprise projects.
• Responsible for developing and documenting detailed solution design and act as an application SME through the design and development lifecycle ensuring alignment with Architecture
• Lead the team to deliver high quality software and help business to run their business efficiently.
• Lead the team to manage multiple streams of work such as Projects, Currency, Support etc. and follow proper code promotion process.
• Build and maintain a high performing platform and ensure the platform meets the need of business, providing stability, reliability, security and scalability.
• Conduct Design Review and Code Review processes to ensure quality of software.
• Ability to reverse engineer legacy codes, find ways to optimize codes and address system bottleneck.
• Manage underlying infrastructure, including hardware, software and storage resources.
• Manage multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod/Lower environments) and ensure the integration and stability of environments.
• Streamline code promotion process and providing ways to improve developer productivity.
• Ensure the stability of platform and Market Operations ecosystem.
• Find ways to optimize platform and address system bottlenecks.
• Lead the analysis of system issues and provide a solution to resolve the issue permanently.
• Promote the best practices and follow the continuous integration and delivery.
• Drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes and workflows.
• Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
• Work closely with development and production operation teams, lead incident resolution to troubleshoot issues and enhance the platform.
