We have an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman /women Parts Technician within our team in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the sales department manager, the successful candidate will be accountable inventory management. You will play a critical role in the supply chain and operations team, overseeing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of components and parts used in automation and control systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of timely parts availability and accurate inventory management to support project deadlines and customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will also become a crucial part of our inside sales team working out of our Edmonton Alberta office full time on a Monday to Friday schedule.
While not a direct requirement knowledge of Diesel/gas engine and power generation control systems would also be desired as your main role would be supporting Woodward controls within Canada. Knowledge pertaining to control systems and components related to steam turbines or gas turbines, experience in either or PLC based control systems would be highly beneficial but not a direct requirement.
The ideal candidate will have some level of mechanical aptitude, ability to learn basic concepts of automation control systems and hydraulic/mechanical / pneumatic parts. Experience in an ERP based accounting system such as Sage 300 or equivalent is necessary for this role. Ability to utilize stocking min / max systems, place PO’s to vendors, use vendor ordering portals, receive and reconcile parts, and stock parts would be key requirements. This role also requires receiving and shipping customer items sent in for repair and coordinating with AP/AR dept.
Experience in coordinating in and outbound freight to the US would be an asset as well. Use of forklift for loading / unloading freight and ability to lift 50-70lbs would be needed.
