JOB SUMMARY

The LPN plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to clients, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity while following professional standards and established protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current LPN license in Alberta (CLPNA registration required)
  • Experience in home care, long-term care, or hospital settings
  • Strong communication, assessment, and clinical skills
  • Skilled in medication administration, wound care, and chronic illness management
  • CPR & First Aid Certification
  • Reliable vehicle & valid driver’s license
  • Professional, empathetic, and dependable

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Nursing home experience – effective in elder care
  • Hospital experience – strong acute care knowledge
  • Home care skills – ability to support clients in their homes
  • Dementia care knowledge – supporting cognitive impairments
  • Pediatric care experience – working with children as needed
  • Hospice & palliative care understanding – end-of-life support
  • Proficiency in pain management to maximize patient comfort
  • Familiarity with medical terminology & assisted living protocols
  • Strong empathy, communication, and patient care skills
Responsibilities
  • Conduct health assessments and monitor client conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Provide wound care, chronic illness management, and health education
  • Assist with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility support)
  • Offer compassionate emotional support to clients and families
  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report changes
  • Collaborate with RNs, care coordinators, and healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families about health management and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control
