    Title: Construction Handyperson (6 month term) Location: Edmonton and surrounding areas At Pacesetter Homes, our people make the difference. Job Overview Reporting to the Construction Manager, as the Construction Handyperson (6 month term), you will oversee on-site construction activities and assist in ensuring construction follows established design and quality. You also enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.  This is a 6 month term position. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: * Working in a supporting role with the Site Superintendent overseeing the construction process for single family homes, duplexes and townhomes; * Completing a wide variety of hands on construction tasks and assisting in monitoring home production, quality control, and site issues. * Completing residential construction work such as: carpentry, drywall, paint, cleaning and site maintenance, and deficiency repairs. * Promoting a safe work environment and ensuring all employees and trades work in a safe manner and follow Qualico’s Safety program and relevant safety legislation. * Monitoring work to ensure it meets Qualico’s standards and all building and safety code requirements. Essential Requirements * High School diploma, or equivalent. * Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. * Understanding of construction processes and procedures. * Valid driver’s licence and vehicle (truck preferred and a vehicle allowance provided). * Own trade tools and equipment. * Satisfactory verification of criminal record check. * Comfortable with smart phone technology including email, calendar scheduling, and basic app usage (company-issued cell phone is provided). * Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel), and construction management software (BuildPro, NewStar etc.). Preferred Requirements * Recent experience in residential construction or the trades is preferred. * Handyperson experience an asset.
