Supervises: N/A Location: Field /General Office Location/Building The Fire Alarm and Security Technician position is responsible for safely installing, programming, and maintaining card access, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems equipment & wiring. This position will install individual components and various wiring throughout sites, following necessary electrical codes & procedures, and according to instructions provided. This position will also test various systems & components, repairing as necessary according to system specifications. Responsibilities: · Install and or service low voltage systems such as access control, video, intrusion alarm, fire alarm and intercoms. · Inspect Fire alarm systems per NFPA 72 requirements. · Install cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors. Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant electrical codes · Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms · Perform installation or service in accordance with work orders, building plans, and manufacture installation manuals.
