We are looking for an experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team on a Contract to permanent basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will provide expertise in technology controls and information security, collaborating with stakeholders to secure data and mitigate risks. You will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s systems, processes, and frameworks align with best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Provide expert advice on technology controls, security programs, and compliance policies to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments, define necessary controls, and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented procedures.
• Lead risk and control assessments, document potential gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Develop and implement a global security management framework to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Create and maintain ongoing reports to monitor technology risks, identify trends, and measure control effectiveness.
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure security controls are integrated into the organization’s enterprise architecture.
• Offer guidance on regulatory compliance, support audit preparations, and assist in remediation planning.
• Participate in incident response activities, representing both business and enterprise needs.
• Define and enforce standards, policies, and procedures to enhance security, efficiency, and compliance.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving regulatory requirements, providing insights to stakeholders
• Proficiency in cloud security technologies, with experience in platforms like Azure and AWS.
• Hands-on experience with data governance, data management, and related tools such as data catalogues.
• Familiarity with analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Alteryx.
• Strong knowledge of metadata products; experience with tools like Talend or Collibra is an asset.
• Expertise in firewall technologies, including Checkpoint and Cisco ASA.
• Understanding of configuration management and auditing processes.
• Solid background in cybersecurity, including risk assessment and vulnerability management.
• Ability to influence organizational culture and promote strong technology risk management practices.
