  Hospice Medical Doctor : Medical director for a hospice team in RI caring for between 80-100 home hospice patients. 16 hours week for clinical visits to patients, IDG, covering calls from team nurses and 8 hours/week being “Doctor of the Day,” a physician who supports the daily hospice admissions. Responsibilities include working with admission nurses to determine eligibility, writing certification of terminal illness statements, decisions on medication coverage, providing initial hospice care until the primary hospice team assumes care. Potential to blend this position with some inpatient palliative care if a full-time position is desirable.  Joining an established hospice team within an organization that has seven home hospice teams.   HopeHealth is a regional not-for-profit provider of hospice and palliative care in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
