The team provides technical leadership of projects throughout the infrastructure lifecycle from feasibility, preliminary and detailed stage designs. Leads engineers from multiple disciplines to deliver integrated designs. Responsible for appointment of competent discipline lead engineers for technical delivery. Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of rail engineering. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique problems. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches. Builds relationships with technical teams within the organisation and individuals inside and outside of the organisation. Responsible for acting independently on technical matters. Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
