The NE II is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and NE II skills and abilities. The NE II will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. The Nurse Extern II will be assigned to an experienced RN each shift and will assist with providing patient care such as ADLS, vitals, ambulation and other duties within the scope of patient care tech or equivalent. The assigned RN instructs and mentors the Nurse Extern II in the assigned clinical area and provides feedback on an ongoing basis. Candidates must be registered by ARRT in Radiology (RT), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CV), and must obtain AHA BLS certification by the end of orientation. A minimum of one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist is required, along with ACLS or PALS certification within 6-12 months of hire.
