CHEF

The North Norfolk Railway operates steam and heritage diesel trains through beautiful coastal countryside between the Georgian town of Holt and the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham. The 5½ mile line attracts around 150,000 passengers each year, is one of the County’s most popular tourist attractions and hosts a series of popular annual events including the Forties Weekend in September and the acclaimed Norfolk Lights Express in November and December.
We are now seeking chefs to prepare a range of breakfasts, sandwiches, snacks and light lunches for our station refreshment rooms and buffets and to assist the Head Chef delivering outstanding food and service aboard the North Norfolkman luxury dining train. Successful applicants will have the highest standards of food safety and hygiene along with demonstrable experience of working alone in a small but busy kitchen.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and friendly team and help grow the catering aspects of the business. The hard working and welcoming catering team operates buffets at each of our three stations, serves refreshments and catering packages on selected services, and provides stylish, tasty and superbly presented meals on dining trains.
We would welcome applications for full-time, part-time or weekend roles. These are permanent positions and we offer a competitive salary.
The Refreshment Rooms are open from approximately 9.30 – 16.30 when trains run and dining trains run at selected lunchtimes and on two or three evenings per month so late shifts are very rare in these roles. Opening times include weekends & holiday periods, so weekend and Bank Holiday working is required.
