JOB TITLE: Commis Chef - Daytime Hours
DEPARTMENT/VENUE: RAF Museum Midlands
LOCATION: Airfield Kitchen
REPORTING TO: General Manager
The Airfield Kitchen at the RAF Museum Midlands are looking for a commis chef to join the kitchen team for the busy year ahead and to support with up and coming events and the daily service of the museum catering facilities.
The desired applicant will have experience of working within a busy kitchen supporting the chefs with food preparation, sandwich making and general cleaning duties. The position boasts the opportunity to develop and learn culinary skills to progress in the role.
Uniform and training is provided.
The restaurant opening hours are 10am – 4.30pm and open 7 days a week. The working hours will be 9am - 5pm.

The member of staff will be required to work weekends and during the school holidays.

• Food production including making sandwiches and vegetable prep
• General kitchen cleaning duties - including ovens, fryers and kitchen extraction.
• Receiving of food and drink deliveries.
• Comply with all Company & client policies, procedures and statutory regulations including human resources, site rules, Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH
• To assist with the setup, service, clearing and cleaning of Event catering as requested
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management

Ideals:

• Good communication skills
• Experience in working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality
• Previous food handling experience
• High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
