Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team in our newly AIR CONDITIONED kitchen. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth running of our culinary services. Duties:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats. Washing up and cleaning down as and when required
- Help with cooking and baking tasks under the supervision of the chef or cook
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Assist in setting up and cleaning dining areas before and after meal service
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients

• Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service, ensuring food textures are considered for all residents

• Following induction and training you will be expected to lead the kitchen to cover the chef’s days off and holiday periods.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to maintain attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Alternate weekends, and holiday cover as needed
