GENERAL:

This job description is correct at March 2025. It may vary in consultation with the postholder to reflect the developments to the job.

· Participate in the production of food items in line with the daily menu or with batch cooking and baking where appropriate.
· Participate in the care and the cleaning of the kitchen areas and equipment as required.
· Delivery of food to the servery and serving of said meals to pupils and staff.
· Be aware of the UK allergy requirements and understand what allergens are contained in the daily menu.
· Talk to the pupils, staff and visitors as appropriate, in order to guide their choice of menu items and increase awareness of foods.
· Assist with the maintenance of quality standards within the Catering Department.
· May be required to wash all equipment, both kitchen and service items.
· Participate in the completion of all necessary records as required.
· Ensure compliance with all food safety legislation relating to the catering industry and with all Health and Safety legislation including allergen, COSHH and risk assessments.
· Report any faults with equipment and appliances to the Catering Manager.
· Other duties as required from time-to-time supporting other staff, as defined by the Catering Manager, Facilities Manager or Bursar.
