Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician II Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM- 11 PM) Compensation: Up to $40 per hour, depending on Experience Overview of Role: The Maintenance Technician II will be based in the steel mill, where they will perform a variety of maintenance tasks with a strong focus on electrical systems and equipment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting and repair skills related to electrical components, along with working knowledge of mechanical systems. The technician will support the safe and efficient operation of heavy industrial equipment in a high-demand production environment. This mid-level position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting larger electrical and mechanical maintenance projects. The Maintenance Technician II is essential in ensuring the reliability and safety of mill operations, contributing to both day-to-day maintenance and long-term equipment performance goals. Requirements Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or an associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred). 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Proficient in using maintenance tools, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and vibration analyzers. Strong understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and practices to ensure equipment reliability. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments with minimal supervision. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and handling hazardous materials. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report issues and document maintenance tasks. Desired Qualifications: Certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, or mechanical systems (e.g., EPA certification, OSHA certification).
