Job Description
We are looking for a commercial and organised product professional to join Sofa.com’s own-Brand and 3rd Party product offering; assisting the Head of Buying & Merchandising in all B&M aspects, with particular focus on new product development, new brands onboarding, product range planning, digital imagery, stores/ ecommerce / marketing support, and systems data management.
As a Junior Commercial Manager your day to day responsibilities would be:

Product Management

• Masters critical path and priority management
• Monitors New Product development with factories to collate information and meet deadlines
• Carries out competition/ trade fair analysis and draws strategic recommendations
• Proposes new ranges and brands aligned with the Sofa.com strategy and positioning
• Displays and constantly builds on strong product and trend knowledge
• Develops and enacts strong systems knowledge and trouble-shooting
• Inputs and maintains accurate data in systems along with BA
• Key B&M coordinator to collate and communicate product information swiftly and accurately to all stakeholders including marketing, stores and ecommerce
• Carries out Marketing shoot preparation, coordination and execution on site
• Develops digital imagery to be accurate and commercial
• Supports QA and Merchandising within the team

Commercial Awareness

• Demonstrates customer and market understanding during product development process
• Supports producing weekly Trade packs and presents internally
• Brings new ideas to improve sales performance and identifies trading risks
• Negotiates pricing and other terms from suppliers

Management

• Manages BA, secures prioritising and organises workload to achieve deadlines
• Controls and guarantees the accuracy and quality of the work delivered for the department
• Supports BA in answering customer/ showroom queries
• Manages, monitors and coaches the Buying Assistant to develop their performance, skillset

Qualifications

• Experienced in the product life cycle including critical path management, liaising with suppliers, competitor research and data analysis.
• Comfortable Systems knowledge including all Microsoft (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
• Experienced in buying/ sourcing of products.
• Ideally and interest in furniture or upholstery.
